2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1
December 15, 2008
The 2009 Chevy Corvette ZR1 isn’t just the most powerful production vette ever to roll off the assembly line, it’s more powerful than many extreme luxury sports cars costing much more. The ‘09 ZR1 is also the most powerful production vehicle ever made by GM, how’s that for getting your ponies in one package. A 376 cubic inch LS9 engine fitted with an Eatons supercharger produces a seat gripping, punch it anytime, 638 horsepower.
The 2009 Corvette ZR1 has some new trim characteristics, the most noticeable of which is probably the see through hood. Who doesn’t want to get a little chill just before they get in by being reminded that the LS9 is ready for your any command. With over 600 ft/lbs of torque on hand the Chevy Corvette ZR1 is more potent than even the equivalent Lamborghini or Ferrari.

Jay Leno says he loves the fact they are made in America, in Bowling Green Kentucky, and that it’s a Chevy.
“Because it’s a Chevy if you DO have a problem with it you can fix it with a hammer, it’s bullet proof”
Very well stated Jay and I love that you openly say so as well. I want to say that I share that mentality here on Auto Nationals, America has made and will continue to make great performance cars. I was just reminded a moment ago as I watched Jay’s video that this site, AutoNationals.com, will likely not be putting out as many articles per day/week/month as some of the other popular Auto Blogs because we have 2 editors right now, not 20. You know what? I bet we write and share more AMERICAN stories than any of those popular mostly foreign blogs.
If built in America appeals to you head over to Jay Leno’s Garage, it will take you hours to take it all in, keep rumbling the asphalt Jay! Oh and the Chevy Corvette ZR1 in Jay’s garage… it’s the first ever built.
